Squiggles

A squiggle begins with seven to ten vertical strips of striped or printed fabric, cut with wavy edges and sewn together with wavy edge to wavy edge. The sewn together fabric is then cut crossways into straight or curved shapes that become elements in a larger composition. Squiggles give me a chance to work with printed fabrics and offer surprising juxtapositions of small, irregularly-shaped pieces of prints contained within large straight or curved compositional elements.
